I am getting to the end of my summer adventure and thInking back, Corfu was not really a destination I was dreaming of, I was just going there with my family but I was nicely surprised as it was Amazing! It is such a Beautiful and Green Island ! There is a lot to do and we did so much in a week . So here is my guide & tips to discover pretty Keyrkira. WHERE TO STAY? We stayed in Moraitika on the South East coast, a lovely little village, a rocky beach with restaurants all along. I would recommend to stay in the North though as there is more to see and the scenery is just incredible. Stay in Sidari or Kassiopi and rent a scooter (25 euros for a day) In Moraitika, we stayed at Leftis Romantica, a family place with great food and well located. Just a shame the owner was not always friendly... If you stop In Moraitika, walk up and visit the beautiful village and stop at one of the best restaurants, Village Taverna or Bella vista. WHAT TO DO? 1. LA GROTTA BAR-RESTAURANT In Paleokastritsa The coolest place on the Island, the best spot to have a beer with trendy music, have a lunch with a view you won't forget, admire the fantastic scenery, swim in the clearest water, chill on the sunbeds & go cliff jumping. Opened from 11AM to 2AM. Make sure you go early so you grab a sunbed 2. CAPE DRASTIS & CANAL D'AMOUR In the North-West part of the island, follow the village of Peroulades and you will see the signs, the view is absolutely stunning and you can even go down to see the rocks from closer. After you can go to Canal d'amour and walk along the canal with your partner to make you love stronger and if you are single you might be lucky and find love soon :) Not far you can also check out Sidari's shops and restaurants. 3. KASSIOPI . KANONI BEACH The most beautiful beach I have seen on the Island. Just behind the main beach of Kassiopi. It's a rocky beach but the water is so clear, just unbelievable. Sunbeds are 2 euros and umbrellas 5. Kassiopi is definitely worth a visit, such a very pretty town with a lovely little port. 4. DRIVE FROM IPSOS TO KASSIOPI The drive along the cliff between Ipsos and Kassiopi is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views on the mountains, pretty villages and Albania in the background. If you have more time, you can stop at every village & walk/drive down to the beach. Definitely the most charming part of the Island. The highest point is Mount Pantokrator and the drive up is unforgettable. 5. CORFU TOWN In Corfu Town visit the Old Fort, from the top you can see the all city. A walk around the Old Town of Corfu Town is another must, including a visit to the church of Ayios Spiridon, the island's patron saint. If you are hungry, stop at Aktaion restaurant, nice view on the fortress and the food is delicious! 6. ACHLLEON PALACE The palace was built by the Empress Sissi, you can visit the magnificent building and the beautiful gardens, this is also where James Bond was filmed. It is 6euros per adult and you have free audioguide available. 7. GO ON A BOAT In Moraitika, We went on the Boat tour Poseidon with captain Noufris, the happiest & coolest captain with the cutest dog. You can take in front of Delfinia hotel, he will take you to Panorama taverna beautiful tropical garden with beach and hamacs, go swim at the south bottom of the island, have lunch in Boukari, a fisherman restaurant & the last village with donkeys. You can also chose to take a day trip to Albania, Paxos and anti Paxos or The blue caves.
