Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. This place is unique and elegant. I just want to live there. A remote pearl on the French Riviera. I have traveled on the other side of the world, to finally discover this absolute paradise, twenty minutes from Nice. Isolated and far from the crowd, this place has always been an attraction for millionaires and celebrities (Baroness de Rothschild, Hubert de Givenchy, Charlie Chaplin, Elizabeth Taylor, David, Niven, Somerset, Jean Cocteau...). Impressive villas and gardens, extraordinary footpaths along the coast.
Remember, I was a private teacher for a Russian family. A luxurious nanny I should say. After a quick phone interview and a few pictures sent to the family, the London recruitment Agency called me: "Ok you have the job! Book a ticket and meet the family in south of France for a trial, I will send you their address and the number of the driver". The driver?? The job offer seemed too good to be true and I had no clue where I was going, I was clearly going straight into a trap. From the first moment I absolutely loved this place. Starting my day by a spectacular run from Saint Jean to Beaulieu (Promenade Maurice Rouvier), and ending it walking down the hill, from the villa to my appartment on the pier just like in a summer dream, smelling the wonderful fragrances of the flowering trees and admiring the stunning view on the peninsula. This place is just MAGICAL.
