It's time to speak about Dubai and tell you what I really think of it. For me, coming to Dubai was not a goal in itself but more a way to escape the grey sky back in the UK. I was lucky to find a job in Dubai while still living in the UK. Before moving to Dubai, I heard all kind of things, so many different opinions and rumors. Now after nearly 3 years living here, I can tell you that there are some pros and some cons but like anywhere else no??

For those who are lost, there will always be cities that feel like home Depuis 2 ans que je vis à Dubai, j'ai vu tellement de questions, souvent les memes d'ailleurs, passer sur les forums. Alors voilà MA liste d'endroits: Beach Clubs, Restaurants, Rooftops, Boulangeries, Bars Lounge, Clubs. Vous me pardonnerez si je n'ai pas encore eu le temps de tester certains endroits mais c'est sur ma TO-DO LIST, je mettrai tout ça à jour au fur et à mesure. N'hésitez pas à me donnez votre avis ou me conseiller d'autres endroits. Je suis preneuse!
Cet article je l'ai fait pour vous et moi. Les résidents et les voyageurs. Les jeunes, les moins jeunes. Les sages, les aventuriers. Les familles, les célibataires... Last August. I landed in Dubai. One more time I never thought I would go to this place one day. Butterfly effect. Exactly one year ago I was getting ready to go to Russia. I came from one extreme to the other. (temperature wise).
Here everything is huge and fast. I love the extraordinary red desert sun each morning and each evening. The prays that transcend us at different time (I particularly appreciate it when I am at the cashier of Carrefour). The city is clean and secure. I like the fact that I don't have to get out of my car when I fill up my tank at the petrol station (Lazy? me?). I like to know that I can call the shop across the road from home if I need a bottle of milk delivered (even though I never do it) or that I can forget my wallet on a table in a coffee shop and no one will steal it. And what a MELTING POT! I teach children of all horizons: Turkey, Russia, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Brazil, America, Saudi, Iran, France, Sweden, English, Swiss...I am myself half-French half-Egyptian. The beauty is in each of us. |
