Walking in those magnificent properties, like Oak Alley Plantation, surrounded by huge trees and luxuriant vegetation, sitting on a rocking chair on a balcony, with a stunning view of the Mississipi river, I felt I was Scarlet for an instant, it was just unreal. The Cajun cuisine was really nice too, a little bit spicy, I particulary enjoyed the Cajun dish "Jambalaya".
The bayous are extraordinary. We went on a boat, moving slowly, I thought I was Indiana Jones looking for the last missing totem. We managed to see a few alligators swimming in the brown water and some cute turtles.
In New Orleans, we walked in the French quarter and dived into the Jazz culture, enjoying some delicious "beignets" outside a cafe, listening to some beautiful intense voices, full of energy. New Orleans is so multicultural and lively!
